Note: The candidates are called for the UPPSC main exam only if they qualify in the UPPSC Prelims Exam and secure the required cut-off marks as decided by the Commission.
NOTE: General Hindi is a Qualifying Paper. A candidate shall be required to obtain such minimum marks in the compulsory paper of General Hindi, as may be determined by the Government or the Commission, as the case may be in the UPPSC Mains General Studies Syllabus.

As per, UPPSC Mains Exam Pattern and Syllabus – For Optional Paper, a candidate is required to choose any one subject amongst the given list of the subjects. This paper will be of 200 marks/Section and it will have a time limit of 3 hours. There are 29 Optional subjects to choose from in the Mains exam, to know more about each subject please click on the name of the subject.
NOTE: There shall be Two sections in all the question papers of Optional subject and each section will include Four questions. Candidates are required to answer only Five questions while they must select minimum Two questions from each section.
