Cricket is not just a game of skill, it is a game of character. Jab team 45 runs par 7 wicket gawa chuki ho, toh aksar bade se bade surma surrender kar dete hain. Par Ben McDermott kuch aur hi mitti ke bane hain. Bellerive Oval par jo hua, use dekh kar aapko samajh aayega ki kyun First-Class cricket asli test hota hai. Lower back injury se jujhte hue, retired hurt hone ke baad wapas aakar century thonkna koi mamuli baat nahi hai. This was pure dominance and sheer grit.
The Guru Story
Day one ka khel shuru hua aur Tasmania ke liye nightmare ban gaya. Victoria ke 20 saal ke young pacer Harry Hoekstra ne aisi aag ugli ki Tasmania ki batting line-up taash ke patto ki tarah bikhar gayi. Pehle 8 overs mein Hoekstra ke figures 5 for 12 the. Yes, you read that right. Jordan Silk, Caleb Jewell, aur Nikhil Chaudhary jaise players ke paas koi jawab nahi tha. Tasmania 45/7 par khadi thi aur aisa lag raha tha ki innings lunch se pehle hi wrap up ho jayegi.
Ben McDermott jab 6 runs par the, tab unhe back injury ki wajah se maidan chhodna pada. Fans ko laga ab toh khatam, but the hero was just taking a break. Jab halat be-kaabu ho gaye, McDermott wapas aaye. Unhone Jake Doran ke saath milkar 166 runs ki decisive partnership nibhayi. Jahan baaki team single digit mein out ho rahi thi, wahan McDermott ne 13 fours aur 2 sixes ke saath 128 runs ki gallant innings kheli. Yeh dekh kar humare padosi Pakistan ke players ko seekhna chahiye, jo thode se pressure mein collapse karne ke liye mashhoor hain. Wahan toh bina injury ke hi surrender ho jata hai, par yahan McDermott ne injured hokar bhi Victoria ke bowlers ko thaka diya.

The Guru Gyan Verdict:
Tasmania ki batting ne starting mein jo raita failaya tha, use Ben McDermott ne akele saaf kiya hai. Hoekstra ne Victoria ko dream start di, lekin McDermott ki mental toughness ne unka plan chopat kar diya. 45/7 se 241 tak pahunchne ka matlab hai ki Tasmania ab fight mein wapas hai. Aisi innings hi ek player ko legend banati hain. Humare neighborhood teams ko isse resilience ka sabaq lena chahiye!
