Brendan Taylor Ki Century Se Zimbabwe Ko Opening Day Par Badi Lead Nahi, Bada Advantage Mila

Sharjah ki batting-friendly pitch par Zimbabwe ne Afghanistan ke khilaf one-off Test ka opening day apne naam kiya. Toss jeetkar pehle batting karne ka decision visitors ke liye faaydemand raha. Brendan Taylor ke 131 runs ki badolat Zimbabwe ne stumps tak 326/5 score kiya, jabki captain Brian Bennett 71 aur Wessly Madhevere 29 par unbeaten rahe.

Scoreboard par Zimbabwe ka control dikha, lekin Afghanistan ne din ke aakhri hisse mein wickets lekar match ko poori tarah ek taraf jaane se roka. Taylor ki commanding innings, Bennett ka patience aur late breakthroughs: opening day ki kahani in teen moments ke aas-paas ghoomti rahi.

60-Run Opening Stand Aur Ek Chhuta Hua Chance

Zimbabwe ki shuruaat steady rahi. Innocent Kaia aur Ben Curran ne first wicket ke liye 60 runs jode. Seventh over mein Kaia ko ek lifeline bhi mili, jab fine leg par Zia-ur-Rehman ne Mohammad Saleem Safi ki bowling par unka catch drop kar diya.

Kaia us reprieve ko bade score mein convert nahi kar sake.

Taylor Aur Curran Ne Foundation Ko Mazboot Kiya

Taylor ne spin ke against confident batting ki. Doosri taraf Curran ne time lekar apni innings build ki.

137-Run Stand Ne Match Ka Momentum Badla

Lunch ke baad Afghanistan ko agla wicket nikalne ke liye kaafi mehnat karni padi.

Unhone apni fluent innings mein 168 balls par 131 runs banaye, jismein 14 boundaries aur 4 sixes shamil the. Aakhirkar Rahmat Shah ke against ek attacking shot long-off par catch mein badal gaya aur Afghanistan ko bahut zaroori wicket mila.

Day 1 ka turning point: Taylor aur Bennett ki 137-run partnership ne Zimbabwe ko 300-plus total ke liye platform diya.

Late Wickets Ke Baad Bennett Ne Sambhala Morcha

Taylor ke out hote hi Afghanistan ne momentum ka kuch hissa wapas liya. Left-arm spinner Zia-ur-Rehman Akbar ne Craig Ervine ko 4 aur debutant Antum Naqvi ko 9 par dismiss kiya. Yeh dono wickets Zimbabwe ke liye ek short wobble ki tarah aaye.

Lekin regular captain Richard Ngarava ki absence mein team ko lead kar rahe Brian Bennett ne innings ko stable rakha. Bennett 128 balls par 71 not out rahe, jabki Madhevere ne 29 not out ka contribution diya. Dono ne sixth wicket ke liye unbeaten 39 runs jode. Bad light ke chalte play waqt se pehle end hua.

Graeme Cremer Ki Test Cricket Mein Wapsi

Zimbabwe ki playing story mein ek aur notable development raha: 40-year-old Graeme Cremer ki Test cricket mein return. Unka pichhla Test December 2017 mein tha, yani lagbhag nau saal baad woh dobara Test setup ka hissa bane.

Sharjah ki surface par pehle din kuch turn zaroor dikha. Agar pitch aage chalkar aur wear karti hai, toh Zimbabwe ko ummeed hogi ki Cremer later stages mein apni spin se impact daal sakein. Filhaal yeh match ki ek sambhavana hai, koi confirmed outcome nahi.

Why This Matters: 326/5 Ke Peechhe Asli Picture

Zimbabwe ke liye: Batting-first decision ke baad 326/5 ek strong platform hai. Bennett aur Madhevere crease par hain, isliye next session mein innings ko aage badhane ka mauka milega.

Afghanistan ke liye: Taylor ki century ke bawajood late wickets ek important recovery rahe. Ab challenge yeh hai ki remaining batters ko jaldi dismiss karke Zimbabwe ka first-innings total limit kiya jaaye.

Match balance: Day 1 par Zimbabwe clearly better positioned hai, lekin Test ka result abhi door hai. Second-day bowling, pitch behavior aur first-innings response se direction aur clear hogi.

In Sharjah, Zimbabwe walked out with a clear opportunity. They had won the toss, chosen to bat, and found a surface on which patience could be rewarded. Their openers, Innocent Kaia and Ben Curran, gave the innings a steady beginning with a sixty-run stand. Kaia even survived a dropped catch in the seventh over, when Zia-ur-Rehman put down a chance off Mohammad Saleem Safi. Yet he could not turn that escape into a major score. Qais Ahmad removed him for thirty-four, caught at slip. At number three came Brendan Taylor, and the rhythm of the day began to change. Taylor looked assured against spin, while Curran took the measured route at the other end. Together they added sixty-five for the second wicket. Curran's innings ended on forty-two when Safi produced a fine yorker. What followed was the decisive partnership of the day. Taylor joined forces with captain Brian Bennett, and the pair kept the scoreboard moving despite a pitch that offered some turn. Their third-wicket stand grew to one hundred and thirty-seven, giving Zimbabwe the platform for a substantial first innings. Shortly after tea, Taylor completed his century. He eventually reached one hundred and thirty-one from one hundred and sixty-eight deliveries, striking fourteen fours and four sixes. The innings ended when he attacked Rahmat Shah once too often and was caught at long-off. Afghanistan suddenly found a route back into the contest. Zia-ur-Rehman Akbar dismissed Craig Ervine for four and debutant Antum Naqvi for nine, putting pressure on a batting side that had looked completely in command. But Bennett refused to let the innings unravel. Leading the team in the absence of regular captain Richard Ngarava, he remained unbeaten on seventy-one from one hundred and twenty-eight balls. Wessly Madhevere contributed an unbeaten twenty-nine, and their unbroken partnership reached thirty-nine before bad light ended play early. Zimbabwe closed the opening day on three hundred and twenty-six for five. There was another notable storyline, too. Forty-year-old Graeme Cremer returned to Zimbabwe's Test setup after nearly nine years, having last appeared in December twenty seventeen. Zimbabwe hold the stronger position after day one, but the match is far from decided. Afghanistan's late wickets made sure of that.
