World Champions ke maidan par wapsi aur wahi purana dominance, lekin twists itne ki fans ki saansein atak jayein. Australia ne series ka pehla match apne naam toh kar liya, par ye victory utni asaan nahi thi jitni dikh rahi thi. Ek waqt par lag raha tha ki Aussie batting line-up Pakistan ki tarah collapse kar jayegi, lekin Ellyse Perry ka experience aur class team ke kaam aaya. North Sydney Oval ki flat pitch par drama full-on tha, aur end mein Australia ne 1-0 ki lead le hi li.
The Guru Story: Perry vs The Kiwis
Chasing a target of 163, Australia ki shuruat kisi nightmare se kam nahi thi. Georgia Voll innings ki second ball par hi pavillion laut gayi. Pressure build ho raha tha, lekin tab entry hui legendary Ellyse Perry ki. Perry ne 30 balls mein 52 runs ki aisi fire-packed innings kheli jisne New Zealand ke bowlers ko backfoot par dhakel diya. Unka saath nibhaya Beth Mooney ne, jo aankhon mein contact lenses ki problem ke bawajood 38 runs banakar momentum set kar gayi.
Lekin cricket is a game of uncertainties. Perry aur Mooney ke out hote hi Australia ne wickets ka guchcha gift kar diya. 145 for 7 par khadi Aussie team panic kar rahi thi. Jess Kerr ne 3 wickets lekar match mein jaan fook di thi. Skipper Sophie Molineux bhi victory ke bilkul kareeb aakar bowled ho gayi. Match thriller mode mein tha tab Kim Garth ne wo beautiful square drive lagaya aur match finish kiya. Australia managed to win by two wickets, but the nerves were real.
Earlier, New Zealand ki batting ne sabko surprise kiya. Devine aur Bates jaise stalwarts ke bina ye team nayi dikh rahi thi. Georgia Plimmer ne career-best 85* banaye aur Maddy Green ne 56* runs ki behtareen innings kheli. In dono ke beech 129 runs ki partnership ne New Zealand ko 162 tak pahunchaya. Halaanki, unki captain Melie Kerr ke liye din bhulane layak tha kyunki unhone bowling mein 50 runs luta diye, jo unke career ka sabse kharab spell tha.
Analysis & Numbers
- Ellyse Perry smashed 52 off 30 balls, hitting her 27-ball half-century with sheer class.
- Georgia Plimmer remained unbeaten on 85, her highest individual score in T20Is.
- Jess Kerr kept the Kiwis in the hunt with figures of 3 for 25 in her 4 overs.
- Melie Kerr conceded 50 runs in 4 overs, marking her worst-ever bowling figures.
- Australia lost 7 wickets for just 59 runs in a middle-order brain fade.
The Guru Gyan Verdict:
Australia ne match jeeta zaroor hai, but their fielding and middle-order collapse was uncharacteristic. Being sloppy in the field and losing wickets in clusters is a habit they shouldn't borrow from teams like Pakistan. Ellyse Perry is still the gold standard of world cricket, and without her, this could have been a massive upset. For New Zealand, this is a moral victory. Their youngsters showed heart, and if Melie Kerr finds her rhythm back, this series is far from over.
