Gambhir Raises Bat-Ball Balance Question After Guwahati Run-Fest

Guwahati mein India aur West Indies ke beech second ODI ek massive run-fest ban gaya, lekin India ke head coach Gautam Gambhir ke liye scoreboard par aaye records se zyada important ek aur issue tha: bat aur ball ke beech balance. India ne 406 ka target chase kar liya, phir bhi Gambhir ne playing conditions ko lekar concern openly express kiya.

Unka main point ye tha ki cricket sirf batting spectacle tak limited nahi hona chahiye. Gambhir ne records, crowd entertainment aur broadcasters ke perspective ko acknowledge kiya, lekin saath hi bowlers ke liye bhi fair contest ki zarurat batayi.

West Indies Put 405/7 On The Board

Match mein West Indies ne pehle batting karte hue 405/7 ka huge total khada kiya. Supplied match details ke mutabik John Campbell, Shai Hope aur Amir Jangoo ne centuries score ki, jisne Indian bowling attack ko throughout innings pressure mein rakha.

Ye total West Indies ka India mein highest total bataya gaya. Itne bade score ke baad Indian bowlers naturally discussion mein aaye, lekin Gambhir ne unki performance ko isolated manner mein judge karne ke bajaye conditions ko bhi equation ka important hissa bataya.

Gill-Rohit Partnership Turns 406 Chase Into A Record Show

406 ke enormous target ka chase karte hue Shubman Gill aur Rohit Sharma ne India ko extraordinary start diya. Dono openers ne 255 runs ki partnership banayi aur West Indies ke bowlers ko bhi wahi challenge diya jo Indian bowlers ne pehli innings mein face kiya tha.

Rohit Sharma ne century score ki, jabki skipper Shubman Gill ne double century complete karte hue unbeaten 223 banaye. Supplied story ke mutabik Gill ka double hundred exceptionally fast tha aur India ne ek historic-sized chase complete kiya.

'This Is Only Batting': Gambhir's Strong Reaction

Match ke baad Star Sports par Gambhir ne clear words mein kaha ki bat aur ball ke beech thoda aur contest hona chahiye. Unhone kaha ki jab discussion cricket ka ho, lekin conditions overwhelmingly batting ko favour karein, to game effectively sirf batting showcase banne lagta hai.

Gambhir ne ye bhi clarify kiya ki records ke liye aise matches outstanding hote hain, crowd ke liye entertaining hote hain aur broadcaster ke liye bhi attractive product create karte hain. Lekin coach aur cricket fan ke perspective se unhone bowlers ke liye sympathy express ki.

Both Bowling Attacks Faced The Same Problem

Gambhir ki criticism ko sirf Indian bowling performance ki defence ke roop mein dekhna complete picture nahi hoga, kyunki West Indies bowlers bhi India ke chase ke dauran equally severe punishment face kar rahe the. Match mein dono sides ke batting units ne consistently boundaries aur big scores produce kiye.

Supplied details ke according Kuldeep Yadav aur Naman Dhir ke alawa kisi bowler ka economy rate seven runs per over se neeche nahi raha. Ye figure clearly dikhata hai ki conditions mein bowling control maintain karna kitna difficult tha.

Why Gambhir Defended The Indian Bowlers

West Indies ke 405/7 ke baad Indian bowling unit criticism ka easy target ban sakti thi, lekin Gambhir ne responsibility ka broader view rakha. Unhone bowling numbers ko conditions se separate karke judge nahi kiya aur is baat par focus kiya ki bowlers ko meaningful assistance aur contest milna bhi game ke balance ka part hai.

Saath hi Gambhir ne batters ki achievements ko dismiss nahi kiya. Unhone records ko outstanding kaha, jis se unka argument batting performance ke against nahi, balki conditions ke overall balance ke favour mein nazar aata hai.

Guwahati Leaves Records And A Bigger Cricket Debate

Guwahati ODI ka scoreboard batters ke naam raha: West Indies ke teen centurions, India ki 255-run opening partnership, Rohit Sharma ka hundred aur Shubman Gill ka unbeaten 223. India ka 406-run chase bhi match ko record-heavy contest banata hai.

Lekin Gambhir ki post-match reaction ne scoreboard se bahar ek larger discussion open kiya: modern limited-overs cricket mein entertainment aur competitive balance ke beech line kahan honi chahiye. Supplied story ke scope mein Gambhir ka stand clear hai ki bowlers ko bhi contest mein meaningful role milna chahiye.

What Happens Next

Guwahati ke high-scoring second ODI ke baad India aur West Indies third aur final ODI ke liye New Chandigarh move karenge. Supplied story New Chandigarh ko bhi batting-friendly destination ke roop mein describe karti hai.

Second ODI ke baad attention ab sirf series ke final match par nahi, balki is question par bhi rahega ki kya next contest mein bowlers ko Guwahati ke comparison mein zyada competitive conditions milti hain.
