Delhi and District Cricket Association, Board of Control for Cricket in India, अब series का दूसरा O.D.I. यदि आपने पहले India बनाम Sri Lanka का opening O.D.I.

Before the first ball is bowled, every international series begins with a sense of anticipation. India and Sri Lanka are preparing for their December 2026 One Day International contest, but the opening match already has a significant story of its own. The first ODI, scheduled for the thirteenth of December, will now take place in Visakhapatnam instead of Delhi. The fixture's date remains the same. What has changed is the city entrusted with hosting the series opener. The development follows a request from the Delhi and District Cricket Association, known as the DDCA, to the Board of Control for Cricket in India, or BCCI. At the heart of the request were concerns about Delhi's air quality during December. Those concerns carry historical weight. In December 2017, during a Test match between India and Sri Lanka in Delhi, visiting Sri Lankan players experienced difficulties amid polluted conditions. That episode forms an important backdrop to the latest scheduling decision. International cricket depends on far more than the action inside the boundary. Match preparation, travel arrangements, the playing environment and the welfare of participants all contribute to the quality of an event. Against that background, moving the opener to Visakhapatnam represents a notable change to the series' operational plan. The revised ODI schedule is straightforward. Visakhapatnam hosts the first match on December thirteenth. Bengaluru is scheduled to stage the second ODI on December sixteenth. Ahmedabad follows with the third ODI on December nineteenth. A three-match T Twenty International leg is also planned, with Rajkot, Cuttack and Pune named as its venues. The available report does not specify the exact dates for those T Twenty International fixtures. Nor does it confirm the opening match's start time, final team selections, toss outcome or pitch conditions. Those details should not be guessed or presented as settled. For supporters, the immediate takeaway is practical and important. Anyone planning around a Delhi opening ODI should now recognise Visakhapatnam as the scheduled venue and rely on official sources for travel and ticketing information. For the teams, the change makes updated logistical planning relevant as the series approaches. And for the wider cricket community, the story illustrates how environmental considerations can shape decisions long before players walk onto the field. There is no need to manufacture drama or forecast an advantage for either side. The confirmed development is already meaningful: a high-profile series opener has moved cities because air-quality concerns were taken seriously. As December draws closer, official announcements will provide the finer details that fans need. Until then, Guru News Network will keep the focus on accurate, contextual cricket reporting.
