Rabada aur Harmer ka Newlands Masterclass: South Africa ne Australia ko 176 Runs se Harakar Test Series 2-1 Jeeti, No. 1 Ranking Wapas Li

At Newlands in Cape Town, the final morning began with possibility hanging over every blade of grass. Australia needed two hundred and eighty-eight to win. South Africa needed ten wickets. A draw still had a place in the conversation. Then Kagiso Rabada took the new ball, and uncertainty began to vanish. Having battled illness earlier in the match, Rabada struck with his third delivery as Matt Renshaw gloved a catch down the leg side to Ryan Rickelton. Three balls later, Marnus Labuschagne was trapped leg before wicket. Travis Head responded with three boundaries, but in the seventh over he edged the balance back towards South Africa when Marco Jansen held his catch at gully. That dismissal was Rabada's three hundred and fiftieth Test wicket. Australia were twenty-two for three. Enter Simon Harmer. From the twelfth over, the off-spinner found purchase in the rough and turned uncertainty into relentless pressure. Josh Inglis was run out for four. Alex Carey attempted a reverse sweep, only for Jansen to produce a remarkable diving catch at backward point. Two balls later, Cooper Connolly was caught behind. Mitchell Starc fell at short leg on the final ball before lunch. Seven Australian wickets had fallen in the morning, with only sixty runs on the board. After the interval, Cameron Green and Pat Cummins chose endurance over aggression. Eleven consecutive overs passed without a run. Green occupied one hundred and ten deliveries for twenty-seven before Harmer bowled him as he advanced down the pitch. Cummins faced ninety deliveries for eleven and joined Nathan Lyon in a forty-five-run ninth wicket stand. Lyon finished unbeaten on thirty-three. But Harmer was not finished. He trapped Cummins leg before wicket, then drifted and turned one past Josh Hazlewood to hit the top of off stump. Australia were all out for one hundred and eleven in fifty-seven overs and one ball. Harmer's astonishing figures were six wickets for sixteen runs in twenty-one overs and one ball, including fourteen maidens. Rabada contributed three for thirty-nine. South Africa completed a one hundred and seventy-six run victory, secured the series by two Tests to one and reclaimed the number one Test ranking. There was another chapter to this win, written the previous day. Ryan Rickelton and Wiaan Mulder struck centuries and shared a one hundred and fifty-four run sixth-wicket partnership, building the advantage that South Africa's bowlers would defend. For Australia, the defeat brought a first Test series loss since March twenty twenty-three. New Zealand moved to the top of the World Test Championship standings, while Australia slipped outside the top two for the first time in this cycle. This was a match shaped by patience, precision and a final-day collapse that will live long in the memory.
