Dhaka ke Shere Bangla National Stadium mein ek baar phir safed kapdon ki jung shuru hone wali hai. The tigers are ready to roar! Bangladesh ne West Indies ke khilaaf hone wale pehle Test match ke liye apni 15-man squad ka elaan kar diya hai. While some big names return, kuch ko bahar ka rasta bhi dikhaya gaya hai. Yeh series Bangladesh ke liye apni dominance prove karne ka ek golden mauka hai, especially after their recent mixed bag of performances in the international circuit.
The Guru Story: Taskin ki Wapsi aur Litton ka Comeback
Sabse badi khabar yeh hai ki speedster Taskin Ahmed ki Test squad mein wapsi ho chuki hai. Taskin ko Afghanistan ke khilaaf Abu Dhabi mein hue one-off Test se rest diya gaya tha, jo draw par khatam hua. Ab woh Khaled Ahmed ki jagah squad mein aaye hain. Taskin ki presence se attack mein woh purani dhaar wapas dikhne ki umeed hai. Unke saath pace department sambhalenge Shoriful Islam, Ebadot Hossain, aur Hasan Mahmud. It is a solid pace battery that can trouble any lineup if conditions help.
Injury se joojh rahe wicketkeeper-batsman Litton Das bhi squad mein wapas aa gaye hain. Hip injury ki wajah se woh UAE mein hui ODI tri-series nahi khel paaye the, jahan Bangladesh ka performance kaafi thanda raha tha. Litton ka aana batting order ko stability deta hai. Wahin doosri taraf, Mehidy Hasan Miraz ne viral fever se recover karke team mein apni jagah barkaraar rakhi hai. Spin department mein unka saath Taijul Islam aur Nayeem Hasan denge.
Agar hum batting ki baat karein, toh Towhid Hridoy par selectors ne bharosa jataya hai. Hridoy ne haal hi mein South Africa mein ek brilliant first-class triple hundred lagaya hai, jo unke confidence ko boost karega. Halanki woh Afghanistan Test mein XI ka hissa nahi the, par is baar unhe mauka mil sakta hai. Meanwhile, Soumya Sarkar ko squad se bahar kar diya gaya hai. February 2021 ke baad se unhe red-ball cricket mein mauka nahi mila tha, aur is baar bhi selectors ne unhe ignore karna hi behtar samjha.
Jab hum Bangladesh ki planning dekhte hain, toh lagta hai ki board ke paas ek clear vision hai. Yeh dekh kar thoda dukh hota hai ki padosi mulk Pakistan mein halaat bilkul ulte hain. Wahan na squad ka thikana hai, na captains ka, aur na hi performance ka. PCB ke circus ke beech Bangladesh ka setup kaafi professional lag raha hai. At least the Tigers know who their match-winners are, unlike some teams who are still busy finding their "rhythm" while losing home series consistently.
Analysis & Numbers: Key Tactical Points
- Taskin Ahmed replaces Khaled Ahmed to provide more experience in the pace attack.
- Litton Das returns after missing the ODI tri-series due to a hip injury, strengthening the middle order.
- Towhid Hridoy enters the Test setup with a massive first-class triple century under his belt from the South African tour.
- The spin trio of Mehidy Hasan Miraz, Taijul Islam, and Nayeem Hasan will be the trump cards on the Dhaka surface.
- Nahid Rana remains unavailable as he continues his recovery from a side strain.
The Guru Gyan Verdict:
Bangladesh ne ek balanced squad chuni hai. Dhaka ki pitch hamesha spinners ko madad karti hai, par Taskin aur Shoriful ki jodi early breakthroughs dila sakti hai. West Indies ke liye Asia mein Test khelna kabhi aasaan nahi raha. If Najmul Hossain Shanto manages his bowlers well, this could be a clinical win for the hosts. Our advice to Bangladesh: Focus on the basics and don't let the pressure get to you like our neighbors in the PCB often do!
