Srinagar ki waadiyan, thandi hawayein aur ek khatarnak green top surface: Sher-i-Kashmir Stadium ne aaj dikha diya ki India mein bhi pace bowlers ke liye asli jannat maujood hai. Irani Cup ka pehla din fast bowlers ke naam raha aur ball itna swing aur seam ho raha tha ki bade-bade batters ke hosh udd gaye. Jammu & Kashmir ke local boys ne domestic giants Rest of India ko backfoot par dhakel diya hai.
The Guru Story
Irani Cup ka aagaz kisi thriller se kam nahi raha. Pitch par itni ghaas thi ki lag raha tha ye Srinagar nahi balki Perth ki koi wicket hai. Jammu & Kashmir ne toss jeeta aur bina kisi deri ke Rest of India ko batting ke liye bulaya. Phir shuru hua local pacers ka Masterclass display. Sunil Kumar, Umar Nazir Mir aur Lone Nasir ne aisi line aur length pakdi ki Rest of India ke top order ke paas koi jawab nahi tha.
Halaki Shikhar Mohan aur Ravichandran Smaran ne half-centuries lagakar thodi fightback dikhayi, par J&K ke bowlers ne unhe set hone ka mauka nahi diya. Sarfaraz Khan, jo hamesha se apne aggressive style ke liye jaane jaate hain, aaj kafi sambhal kar khel rahe the. Unhone 45 runs ki ek disciplined innings kheli par wo bhi badi innings mein tabdil nahi ho payi. Puri team 237 runs par dher ho gayi. Jab J&K ki batting aayi, toh India ke star pacer Akash Deep aur Mukesh Choudhary ne dikha diya ki unhe kyu high-rated mana jata hai. Din khatam hote-hote J&K ne 2 wickets kho diye hain aur ab wo 216 runs peeche hain.

The Guru Gyan Verdict:
Srinagar ki ye wicket Indian fast bowling ki real depth dikhati hai. Jab humari domestic teams aise green tops par khelti hain, tabhi hum overseas tests mein danke bajate hain. Jammu & Kashmir ne aaj prove kiya ki unke paas raw talent ki koi kami nahi hai. Wahi dusri taraf hamare padosi Pakistan ko dekho, jo apni home pitches par hi ghabra jaate hain aur spin ke chakkar mein dustbowls banate hain. Hum yahan pace monsters tayaar kar rahe hain aur wo wahan abhi bhi pitch ki mitti check kar rahe hain. Din ka khel khatam ho chuka hai, par asli jung Day 2 mein shuru hogi jab Akash Deep apna full splell shuru karenge.
